Hola, Web peeps! Just another entry here from your friendly neighborhood Kiba. Today is a rather non-exciting day… I have spent it shopping and hanging about with my family. Yay them. Will sent me some articles about education issues. One of these is a pretty big deal recently – they’re not going to use SAT scores anymore at the University of California.

I think that choice is an interesting one, but poses some problems. The claim is that SAT scores reduce diversity among students and other factors should be considered. I agree that other things are important, but you can make it policy to not consider the SAT heavier than other factors in an admissions decision. The SAT may be very useful in a case in which you have students with many things alike, and in balancing out the differences among varying school curricula.

Not much news otherwise, so I’m off to join yet more cliques…
