🔖 In “The Black Casting Choices in BRIDGERTON Were…A Choice”, Jessica Pryde explains the ways this was very much NOT colorblind casting. I especially appreciate her acknowledgement of the trauma related to maternal health outcomes. 📺

We are indebted to their labor and their sacrifice, and we must acknowledge the tremors of that violence throughout the generations and the resulting impact that can still be felt and witnessed today.
