My son sings “Step by Step” at school sometimes. I always thought it sounded like a union song and, indeed, the lyrics come from a miner’s union. I continue to strike today in solidarity with the Graduate Student Employees & Student Researchers.

I am not ashamed to admit that I thought you were taking about the New Kids on the Block song when I read the beginning of this post. Also, I might be a little ashamed.
Also I appreciate your demonstration of solidarity. I don’t know that I’d be able to do it due to fear of lost income. My hat is off to you.
@UndamnedOne Don't be ashamed! It's an easy mistake to make. The only reason I can strike at all is a combination of strike pay (about 40% of my normal pay) and that my spouse's income is double mine normally. I don't know if I would have been able to strike at all otherwise.
